Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza by Natasha Jelezkina
The holiday photo walk is tonight, so I’ve put together a few things to help you prepare. We’ll meet at the Bean at 4PM. I will be hanging out at the benches east of the Bean. Come and let me know that you’re here and then feel free to roam around and shoot for a bit. The sun sets at 4:32, so we will hang out around the ice rink, the Bean, and the area during blue hour until about 5:15. At 5:15 we will meet at the benches again to head to the Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza. Along the way, look for the holiday decorations along State Street.
I’m guessing that the Christkindlmarket will be very crowded. We won’t try to stick together. So split up and move in groups. Try finding some scene setting shots from outside the market. Get some close-ups of the vendors and ornaments. And get yourself a hot chocolate!
At 7PM, we will meet up at the Elephant and Castle at Lake and Wabash to eat, drink, and share images. After, I will be heading out again to make the trek down Michigan Avenue to shoot more holiday lights and car trails.
Wear your long underwear, hat, glovies, and bring lot of batteries! See you tonight.

It’s not going to rain or snow. But it’s going to be cold. Read some cold weather shooting tips from this post last winter.
Parking
If you’re driving down for the walk, I recommend a site that I’ve gotten a lot use out of lately, www.Parkopedia.com. I’m thinking that the Aon Center Parking Garage looks like a good option. Be prepared for them to check your trunk.
